Day 16 (British Columbia) CBC R3 Song of the Day

As a tribute to Canada and my love for Canadian Indie music, I’ve not only created special provincial playlists for my Cross-Canada road trip but I will also be featuring a:

“CBCR3 Song of the Day”

Every day I will showcase a CBCR3 artist from the province where we happen to be travelling. (the rules are simple; simply because I’m too tired for fancy)

Today is Day 16 – we are in Tofino, British Columbia and the CBCR3 Song of the Day is…… (drum roll please)

Strange Girl, The Zolas

The Zolas are a Canadian Indie rock band based out of Vancouver, BC.  They released their debut album in 2009 but I only discovered them last year with their hit, Strange Girl (which made my 2013 CBC R3 playlist).

I chose this song in honour of my amazing daughter, Moxie who turned 8 years old today.  Her brother and I have deemed this to be her theme song & sing it to her frequently.  (Don’t worry; We take pride in our strangeness!)

Happy Birthday Moxie! (you may one day be Queen, but to me you’ll always be my strange girl)
